Sad Jack Live @ Debaser Nova

On the 12th of September Sad Jack will perform at Debaser Nova (former Brooklyn Bar) at Hornstulls Strand. The gig is also part of Jack’s creators birthday party and will feature both some unreleased Sad Jack material as well as a few surprises, of course written by Lars Edvall, but not originally for Jack’s purposes.

The band:

  • Emil Olin, drums
  • Magnus Funemyr, keyboard and backing vocals
  • Emma Nilsdotter, backing vocals and percussion
  • Johan Nyberg, bass
  • Tias Engvall, electric guitar and backing vocals
  • Jack, lead vocals, keyboards and acoustic guitar

”Unpaintable” – the EP

A the end of April four new tracks will be released in the form of an EP. The tone of it? Well, rather dark of course, but not without exceptions. A bit more acoustic drums and electric guitars than usual, among other things. Track list as follows:

  • 1. In it for the long run (about accepting the true nature of oneself)
  • 2. Don’t hear a word you’re saying (about wrongly blaming one’s wrongdoings on one’s ”true” nature)
  • 3. Minor issues (about even someone’s slightest behaviour, habits or likewise being enlarged into big problems)
  • 4. Unpaintable (about words and images not being nearly enough to describe a certain person)

No, not an EP – a full album!

March 2024 Sad Jack drops a full length album. ”All we’re waiting for” will feature seven brand new songs and also include five songs taken off of the most recent EP and single releases. Track list as follows:

  1. SAVE ME
  2. Left of what’s right

  4. Days of glory
  5. Asking for a friend
  6. Virginia
  7. On display
  8. Polarity
  9. Undecided
  10. Revolver
  11. Battle me
  12. All we’re waiting for

New EP upcoming

”On display” – single release and review

One sided single and story (with a surgical theme) of a person who has put themselves out there – only to be ripped apart by someone who does not care enough – now begging to be left alone to lick their wounds. Somewhat an homage to Depeche Mode, a band who’s magnificent legacy to synth music needs no further comments. The blogg Popmuzik interviewed Jack about the song and the story behind it.
